Simple Swap for Chips

Potato chips are one of the most common snacks that folks like to munch on.

They also pack a hefty calorie, unhealthy fat, and sodium content as well. Potato chips are usually made with a cheap, toxic oil combo (also known as trans fat!). They typically include one or more of the following: canola, soy, cottonseed, corn, or sunflower oils.

Why not make a swap and choose something different next time. A great option? Plantain Chips!

While plantain chips still have a similar fat and calorie profile as potato chips, they are a healthier swap because they are made with organic coconut oil (a medium chain fatty acid).

Banana is one of my favorite brands of plantain chips! They are made with simple, wholesome ingredients and they taste delish!

When shopping for healthier swaps, look for chips made with healthier oil options like coconut, palm, olive, or avocado oils. They are less processed and are more nutrient dense.

Even with healthier swaps, however, be mindful of serving sizes (don’t eat the whole bag in one sitting!). However, these yummy plantain chips make the perfect swap to curb your potato chip cravings!
