Drinking 1 green drink every day is hands down one of the easiest habits you can start incorporating into your life.  This one simple habit can reap great rewards!

There is no disputing the fact that vegetables and fruit are some of the healthiest foods on the planet.  We know we should eat more of them.  Yet it can be a struggle to get them into our diets on a daily basis.

That’s where green drinks come in!

Whether it’s a green smoothie, green juice, or a powdered green drink, drinking 1 green drink every day is a fast, convenient way to ensure you get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables.

So, what’s the big deal about green drinks?  Well, check out some of their amazing benefits!  They can:

  • Increase your energy
  • Fight free radicals
  • Give you glowing skin
  • Help your body get rid of toxins
  • Boost your enzymes for better digestion

I typically opt for a green smoothie or a powdered green drink, because the clean-up from using a juicer can be a bit more time consuming.  But if you have a little more time, juicing fresh vegetables and fruit is a wonderful way to get an intense nutrient boost directly into your cells.  The main difference between a green smoothie and a green juice is that the smoothie blends the whole food, so you keep all that great fiber (which helps to keep you feeling fuller longer).  And green powdered drinks contain dried versions of whole fruits, vegetables, superfoods, and sea vegetables, which simply need to be added to water for a super fast way to get a variety of nutrients.  Check out these nutrient-dense green drinks:

amazing grassAmazing Grass – This comes in a variety of flavors (my favorites are Orange Dreamsicle and Chocolate) and is not too “grassy” at all.  I always feel energized after drinking a glass of this.  It doesn’t get much more convenient to get your daily greens than this!

terra greensTerra Greens – This has all the greens, fruits, and vegetables, with the addition of lemon and ginger essential oils (great for detox and digestion). This is another quick and delicious way to get your greens when you’re short on time.

One of the easiest ways to ensure that you consume your green drink each day is to have all the prep work done ahead of time.  I like to throw all my ingredients for my smoothies into ziploc freezer bags and store them in the freezer.  Then, all I have to do is throw them into my blender with my liquid of choice and blend away.

Here are some of my favorite smoothie ingredients to mix and match into different freezer bags:

  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Bananas
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Chia Seeds

When it comes time to blend my smoothie, I also like to add raw cacao powder, a spoonful of almond butter or sunflower seed butter, and a scoop of protein powder for an additional nutritional boost (these items don’t freeze well, so I don’t add them to the freezer bag).

You can also blend your smoothie in the morning and store it in a stainless steel cup to take with you on the go.  These cups are perfect for keeping your smoothie cold for hours.  I love Corkcicle and Healthy Human cups!
