This week we’re talking about getting and maintaining happier moods. Hopefully you got some good ideas from our mood booster list.
There are times when we could use some additional help (i.e. we’re under extreme stress, our hormones are out of whack, etc.). While supplements are not the answer to our problems, they can provide our bodies with additional support during times of stress (in addition to a healthy diet).
Here are my top 3 recommendations for mood boosting supplements:
1. Theanine Serene
This is a relaxing cocktail of minerals, amino acids, and soothing herbs. It contains magnesium, which is known as the “anti-stress mineral.” Many people are deficient in this essential mineral, which is responsible for so many different functions in the body, including regulating cortisol (our stress hormone). Theanine Serene also contains taurine and l-theanine, two amino acids known for creating a calming effect in the body, as well as GABA, a natural neurotransmitter that elevates serotonin levels.
