Have you ever read through the entire Bible? It may seem like a daunting task, but I’ve compiled 10 different plans that take the guess work out of where to begin. Reading the whole counsel of God makes whole Christians! Getting into God’s Word is one of the best things you can do to strengthen your walk with the Lord. If you’ve never read through God’s Word in its entirety, I encourage you to pick a plan and dive right in! Remember, God’s Word has the power to transform your life! (Rom. 12:2; Heb. 4:12)
1. Thematic Bible Reading Plan
This is a great plan if you want to see how Scriptures are connected to each other. As the description of this plan says, “These Bible reading schedules are thematic or connective in nature. The goal is to make as many associations as possible between the different parts of Scripture while still reading individual books of the Bible from start to finish. ” I have used this plan several times and love it!
2. Chronological Bible Reading Plan
This plan has you read Scripture in the order that the events happened. This is helpful as it keeps the daily readings in chronological and historical order.
3. Revive Our Hearts Bible Reading Plans
Plans for every level – Beginner, Moderate, Advanced – there’s a plan for everyone!
4. 3-Year Bible Reading Plan
If you want to go slower and have time to really meditate on your daily readings, this is a great plan! The daily readings are shorter, making it easier to catch up if you miss a day or two. This plan has you reading through the Old Testament chronologically in 3 years and the New Testament every year. Starting this plan in the middle of the year? No problem! It has a ‘Late Start’ guide for every month of the year!
5. One Book at a Time Bible Reading Plan
This plan provides 2 readings for each day – one in the Old or New Testament and one in the Wisdom literature and Isaiah. There are also built-in “catch up” days in case you get behind in your readings!
6. 5x5x5 New Testament Reading Plan
Has you read through the New Testament 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week, with 5 ways to dig deeper!
7. The M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
The 19th Century Scottish minister, Robert Murray M’Cheyne, created a plan for Bible reading to take readers through the New Testament and Psalms twice a year, and through the rest of the Bible once each year. There are approximately 4 chapters per day in this plan.
8. Table Talk Bible Reading Plan
This plan simply contains 2 readings a day – one from the Old Testament and one from the New.
9. Two-Year Bible Reading Plan
This plan is designed to take you through the Old and New Testaments in two years, and through the Psalms and Proverbs four times during that period.
10. The Busy Life Plan
This plan gets you through the entire Bible in 2 years with shorter daily readings. Also provides more time to meditate on each day’s reading.
