In our last post, we talked about 10 of my favorite spiritual books that have truly been life-changing for me. As I’ve mentioned many times, spiritual health and physical health are like two sides of a coin. We are our healthiest and happiest when we polish both sides of that coin.

So, today I want to share with you 10 of my favorite health books. These books are great whether you are a seasoned health-enthusiast or whether you’re new to trying to get healthy. These are 10 books that I believe can absolutely transform your health!

1. God’s Guide to Food, Fitness, and Faith

Part health info, part journal, and part devotional, this wonderful little book provides great inspiration for the “why” behind getting healthy. The layout of this book is easy to navigate, and it is definitely one you’ll want to refer back to. The motivational quotes throughout are worth the price of the book!

2. Greater Health God’s Way

Y’all know how much I love Stormie Omartian! Her books have greatly influenced my life. I love how Stormie combines both the physical and spiritual aspects of health (it’s so important to address both!). You’ll come away inspired with the practical steps you need to take to transform your health. Highly recommend!

3. Deadly Emotions

Few people consider the emotional and spiritual aspect of their health problems. In his fantastic book, Dr. Don Colbert shows the different emotions that, when left unchecked, can have deadly ramifications. This was really an eye-opening read. If you are experiencing physical symptoms that you can’t seem to get to the root of, I highly encourage you to read this book and see if you have any unresolved emotional or spiritual issues in your life.

4. Becoming the Woman I Want to Be

This is a unique, 90-day devotional, unlike any I’ve ever read! Author Donna Partow created this 90-day journey with every day mapped out for you. Each day includes:

  • Scripture to Memorize (There is one for each week and she reviews it daily)
  • Passage to Read
  • Guided Prayer
  • Space to Journal
  • Affirmation to Recite
  • Action to Take
  • Attitude Adjustment
  • Diet & Exercise Checklist

If you are one who enjoys having a plan to follow on your health journey, this book is for you. The changes you could see in your health in just 90 days are remarkable!

5. The Eat Clean Diet

I am a very visual learner, and I love the pictures in this book – they always inspire me! If you want to be inspired to clean up your diet, get organized, meal plan for the week, and prep your meals and snacks to save lots of time and energy, you will love this book!

6. The Essential Oils Hormone Solution

Y’all know how much I love essential oils and how they have been pivotal in my health journey. I can honestly say that one of the main areas of my health they have helped is my hormones. This book is an incredible resource and guide to help you get your hormones healthy and happy again. It’s chock full of DIY recipes, routines, and helpful info on just about any hormonal imbalance you might be experiencing. Love this book!

7. The New Optimum Nutrition Bible

This was one of the required reading books for the certified nutrition program I took, and it was one of my favorites from the program. Nutritionist Patrick Holford created a very comprehensive guide on nutrition and health, yet it is easy to understand and user-friendly. This revised edition includes an A-Z Guide for specific health issues and how to heal them with nutrition. While I don’t agree with everything Holford asserts in this book (he’s an evolutionist), the benefits of the information he provides far outweigh the negatives.

8. Chris Beat Cancer

This is one of my favorite health books I’ve read in the last several years. Chris’ story is quite extraordinary – he healed himself from stage-3 colon cancer using nutrition and lifestyle changes! For any skeptics, Chris provides TONS of documented research for his readers as well as additional recommendations for the reader to do their own research. He also provides a comprehensive and holistic plan for healing. I highly recommend this book for your own health and if you have a friend or loved one who’s been diagnosed with cancer. His website is also a treasure-trove of information on healing cancer naturally.

Chris also has a wonderful companion devotional called Beat Cancer Daily: 365 Days of Inspiration, Encouragement, and Action Steps to Survive and Thrive. These two books would make a wonderful gift bundle for yourself or a loved one recently diagnosed.

9. The Seven Pillars of Health

In his helpful book, Dr. Don Colbert provides what he calls the “seven pillars of health.” These are essentially seven areas that, when tended and cultivated, can produce incredible changes in our overall health. This book is well-organized and great for beginners and seasoned folks alike! There’s also a companion workbook that is very helpful to have while reading through this book.

10. Eat Dirt

The Greek physician Hippocrates has been credited as saying, “Death begins in the colon.” Even back then, people understood how important digestive health is to overall health. If you have a healthy digestive system, you are well on your way to experiencing a healthy life! That’s exactly what Dr. Josh Axe discusses in his book, Eat Dirt. This is such a helpful and informative guide on gut health, and it provides step-by-step natural solutions to different types of unhealthy guts (i.e. Toxic gut, Stressed Gut, Candida Gut, etc.). If you have any type of digestive issue, this book is for you. Highly recommend!

What are your favorite health book? I’d love to hear!
