Supplement Spotlight: Natural Anti-inflammatories

Pain.

It’s something we all experience at one time or another.

Not long ago, I had terrible pain in my neck and shoulders, particularly my left shoulder.  I couldn’t figure out why it ached so much.  I had trouble sleeping, and my arm would go numb in the middle of the night.

I was convinced I had some terrible condition, and I set out to get to the root of my pain.

After much research and thinking through my activities each day, I finally came to the conclusion that my pain was coming from the way in which I would sit in bed at night and look at the computer screen.  I had a pinched nerve in my lower neck and shoulder.

So I made sure to sit at my desk if I was working at my computer or to sit on the sofa if I was watching something on the computer.  Sure enough, the pain went away.

I also took a combination of natural anti-inflammatories and joint supplements that sped up the pain relief and healing process.

So, I wanted to share with y’all some of these natural anti-inflammatories that are full of antioxidants, herbs, and spices. Not only do they help with pain, but they also provide a number of good side effects as well!

Wobenzym NWobenzym N

This supplement is an award-winning, systemic enzyme formula.  Enzymes are essentially molecules that accelerate chemical reactions in the body (i.e. digestion, quelling inflammation, etc.) The enzymes in this formula work throughout the body to help with the body’s natural response to inflammation. I experience a slight warming sensation when I take these, and I can really feel it soothing aches and pains.

This is a great supplement whether you have chronic pain or an acute flare-up, and it’s particularly beneficial for sore muscles and joints.

There is also research showing that this formula of natural enzymes works to dissolve uterine fibroids and scar tissue in women.

 IbuActinIbuActin

This formula contains a combination of natural anti-inflammatory herbs, spices, and enzymes, such as bromelain, ginger, and turmeric.  Not only does this formula help ease pain, but there are also numerous studies showing the benefits of herbs like ginger and turmeric against diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s.

IbuActin is another great option for dealing with chronic pain (joint, nerve, back, muscle, arthritis, headache), and pain that comes on suddenly.

ZyflamendZyflamend

Similar to IbuActin, Zyflamend offers an array of herbs and spices that are well researched for their ability to fight inflammation. It also includes ginger and turmeric, but it also offers stress-relieving herbs like Holy Basil and anti-bacterial herbs like Oregano for a full body approach.  While I prefer Wobenzym N or IbuActin for their quick pain relief, I like Zyflamend for its ability to take the edge off both body and mind when I’m in pain.

These products have been well-researched for their pain relief and health promoting ingredients.  If you are used to taking over-the-counter NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for pain, I highly recommend reading this article to see the potential side effects these can cause with long-term use.  The good news is that there are alternatives, like the supplements listed here, to help ease your pain without causing harm to your body.

They don’t need to be taken together.  Follow package directions and see which one works best for your pain!
