You’ve probably noticed that I’ve been talking a lot about essential oils recently. And it’s with good reason. They have made a huge difference in how I feel physically and emotionally. I thought it would be fun to do a “Top 10 Essential Oils” series to share with you my 10 favorite oils and blends and how I use them every day. I now wonder what I used to reach for before I started using these amazing oils. I’m so thankful to have these natural remedies at my fingertips to turn to for everyday issues. They have truly been a game-changer for me, my family, and our overall health, and because they have helped transform our health, I’m passionate about sharing them with others!
What better way to start off this series than with my absolute favorite essential oil. If I could choose only one oil to take with me on a desert island, it would be Frankincense!🌴 Known as the “King of the oils”, there’s not many conditions in which frankincense can’t help. The more I study the benefits of this amazing oil, the more I understand why the wise men brought Frankincense to Jesus as a baby!
Here are some ways to use my favorite oil:
1. Relieve Stress
Rub a drop in the palm of your hand and inhale deeply for instant calm and stress relief. You can also put several drops into a diffuser and breathe in the molecules dispersed into the air for a calming experience.
2. Rejuvenate Skin
Add a drop or two to your favorite moisturizer for skin rejuvenation and healthy cell turnover✨ Frankincense can be quite effective at nourishing aging skin and helping with sunspots. Here is the amazing skincare line that I use that already has Frankincense in it!
3. Soothe sore and achy muscles
Rub a few drops over sore muscles for a healthy inflammatory response. Frankincense helps to support your body on a cellular level, making it an ideal muscle rub!
4. Relieve Head and Neck Tension
Rub a few drops on temples and down back of neck to soothe head and neck tension. The refreshing scent always helps me start to feel better!
5. Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Frankincense has natural calming properties, which make it an ideal oil to diffuse at night. Try diffusing with several drops of Lavender at night for deep sleep.
6. Cellular Support
Frankincense helps to support your body at a cellular level. Healthy cells = a healthy you! Add several drops to empty veggie capsule and take internally for cellular support.
7. Relaxing Bath
Add several drops to 1 cup of Epsom salt for a relaxing, renewing bath. It will help rejuvenate both body and mind!
8. Support Your Hormones
I love to add Frankincense to my rollerball blends, because it’s supports just about every part of the body – including hormones! Combine with several drops of Clary Sage and rub on bottoms of feet for overall hormonal support.
9. Boost Your Body Lotion
I love to add oils to my unscented body lotion to create a different fragrance each day. Because I crave the beautiful scent of Frankincense, it’s one of my favorites to use. Add several drops to unscented body lotion to rejuvenate skin and lift your mood.
10. Powerful Daily Protection
Because Frankincense is such an amazing oil for overall health, I try to sneak it in to most of my recipes, including this Daily Protective Blend. Combine 10 drops each Frankincense, Sandalwood, Myrrh, and Lemongrass in a 10 ml rollerball and top with fractionated coconut oil. Rub on bottoms of feet for a powerful and protective daily blend!
